For Serious Music Supporters:
Create a Legacy Gift of Music for Future Generations!

The ISO has a long history of supporting and developing music education and appreciation in our community.   Help us continue these programs
with a legacy gift in your name.

The ISO offers you private    Planned Giving Options!

There are many easy estate and planned giving options that can give you the satisfaction of knowing that, through your gift to the ISO, you are leaving a legacy of music for future generations to enjoy.

We've created this easy-to-understand website section to help you think about different ways to make a planned gift to the Island Symphony, no matter what size, that's right for you.

For instance, did you know that:

  • You can make a legacy gift now that will cost you nothing during your lifetime — just name the ISO as one of your beneficiaries of your will or revocable trust, or retirement savings.  It's easy to do and is a worthy charitable gift that will be long remembered in your name!

  • You don't have to use any cash to make a donation to the ISO — donate appreciated securities to the ISO instead. Your tax deduction is the same as for a cash gift--at the market value of the securities donated--and you pay no capital gains tax on the transfer.

  • Donate a valuable asset that may help the ISO more than it's helping you — such as a life insurance policy whose coverage your family no longer needs, or valuable personal property like musical instruments, artwork, antiques, or other valuable property you can donate instead of sell. And you get the tax benefits!

Leave a Lasting Memorial!
Planned gifts can be made in your name, or in the names of other loved ones.

They can be granted for the ISO general operations or for specific programs you would like to fund or establish.

Check with the ISO for more information.

Please contact us at PlannedGiving@IslandSymphony.org to discuss these or other planned giving options you might consider.

NOTE: The information provided here does not constitute individual financial planning or tax advice.  Consult with your tax or estate planning advisers before making any planned gifts to the ISO.
